Get to Know the Samaritan Alliance
By Ella Clayton
The Samaritan Alliance was established in 1998, and quickly became one of the only group purchasing organizations solely dedicated to providing service to senior living providers. The company has thrived by focusing on three distinct values: mission and core values, prudent and ethical practices, and advocacy.
The mission and core values of the Samaritan Alliance is growing the company to become more efficient and effective in providing care. This is achieved by identifying and developing various products, as well as services and educational programs. With the best tools, the Samaritan Alliance can continue to grow and provide service to senior living providers.
Another important value of the Samaritan Alliance is prudent and ethical practices. The safety and well-being of senior adults in the Samaritan Alliance’s caregiving organizations is the highest priority. Competent and deliberate decision-making helps to provide the best care to senior adults. The Samaritan Alliance stays open to change and promotes honest peer interaction, support, trust and fellowship to create the best environment for employees and residents.
The third core value is advocacy. The Samaritan Alliance is dedicated to being advocates for resident’s rights. They are also dedicated to being advocates for their organizations that enrich the community. They are committed to being accountable to the communities they are dedicated to and serve.
The biggest, overall principle the Samaritan Alliance abides by is residents first. The core founders of the Samaritan Alliance believed that a “win-win” relationship between senior living communities and the suppliers of goods and services would ultimately allow better financial and service solutions to provide residents with the best quality of life. Vertis Therapy is a proud member and supporter of the Samaritan Alliance and their values and principles.
