Certified Nurse Aid - (CNA)
The primary purpose of this position is providing for the daily care, health needs, safety, and comfort of the residents in a long-term care nursing home under the supervision and direction of a Staff Nurse. This position reports directly to the Staff Nurse
Duties for this position include but are not limited to:
Assist residents with bathing, toileting, oral hygiene, skin care, grooming, nail care and dressing needs; feed residents, transfer residents to the dining room as needed; assist residents with turning, positioning, exercising, transferring and ambulation. Answers call lights. Maintain resident rooms (i.e. making beds, changing bed linens, etc.) Follow documentation requirements for needed for resident care. Offer emotional support to resident and their families. Maintain resident confidentiality.
Required Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED, unless working under a student permit. Be certified by the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) as a C.N.A. in good standing.
Have a thorough understanding of the principles of safe effective nursing practicies within the State of Indiana. A working knowledge on the use of personal computers, e-mail accounts and other computer software programs such as Word, Excel and ADP; as well as minor office machinges such as faxes and copiers.
